2011 - 2012 Racing Pro - East Coast Snocross

with Team Southside - Polaris - North Adams, MA

ECS seaon started at Burke, VT on Dec. 17th 2011

Boonville, NY- Jan. 28th, 29th, 2012 Snocross racing at the Fairgrounds. Despite the warm weather and rain, ECS was able to put a track together in a short time. Pro Stock racing 2nd qualifier finishing 4th in the Final. Leading in the Pro Rookie points - ECS.

Plattsburg, NY- Jan. 14th, 15th, 2012 racing at Crete Civic Center. First race of the weekend started out good with a 2nd place heat race in the Pro ECS Challenge race.

Rough track conditions led to an early collision in the Pro Stock class. Made the final from the LCQ and continued to race despite injury. Sunday made the Pro Open and ECS Challenge final in the front row and took the Challenge Race Hole Shot Award.

East Burke, VT - First East Coast Pro race of the season at Burke Mtn, VT, Dec. 17th. Weather was not kind to the track, but racing was still on. With lack of snow and no practice, finished heats and finals mid pack for the first race weekend, including the first Pro Open race on my Polaris mod.

Duluth, MN - Spirit Mtn, Nov. 2011 - 1st race of the season - ISOC National. Finished in the top 5 in all the heat races, but bad luck in the LCQ and missed the finals. Good to be out on the track and get ready for the ECS series.

2011 - East Coast Snocross series (ECS)

Thanks to the help of Team Southside, Massachusetts, and all his sponsors, Jake has finished up the East Coast Snocross series on Top in both Semi-Pro stock classes.

Killington, VT - Last 2011 ECS race at Pico Mtn - Killington VT. Jake made a clean sweep on both Saturday and Sunday at the last race of the season. Saturday the snow flakes fell most of the day, with blue skies on Sunday. Jake got the hole shot and the win right off the start. He conquered the up and downhill and kept it up all weekend, winning every race and getting most of the hole shots and best lap times. Jake and his Polaris sled were on fire and performed a repeat performance on Sunday jumping his point standing from 3rd to 1st on Sunday and maintained his 1st place standing on Saturday.

Thanks to all the sponsors, team support and mechanical help from Team Southside for a successful race season.

Findley Lake, NY - ECS race at Peek n Peak Resort. Great race results on the long up and downhill track with three 1st place heats and a 2nd in the final. Mechanical difficulties posed a problem in Saturday's final, but able to hold on to the points lead.

Turin, NY -ECS race at Snow Ridge Ski Resort. Racing this weekend proved to be a challenge with lots of rain on Saturday and snow on Sunday. Had a off on the first heat but was able to win the next heat. Ended the weekend with a 3rd place on Sunday.

Salem, NH -ECS race at Rockingham Park. Good racing both Saturday and Sunday - with 1st and 2nd in heat races and two 2nd place finals. This should put Jake in the top points on Saturday and top three in Sunday's Semi-Pro class. Made the front row of the ECS Challenge race with the Pro's / Semi-Pro's and finished 8th.

Farmington, NY -ECS race on Friday posed a few challenges but was able to finish in the top ten after a tangle off the start line. Missed out on getting into the national final on Saturday. Sponsorship from Team Southside.

Mirabel, Quebec -The weekend posed a few technical challenges and turns of events, but Jake was able to pull off a 1st place in the heat and a 9th and 5th place in the finals.

East Coast Snocross currently 2nd and 3rd in season points. Hoping to move up to 1st.

Ossipee, NH - Had a strong weekend with good heat races and good final finishes. Sat. 1st heat had the fastest lap time of the weekend in the Semi-Pro class, with a 3rd and a 1st. Kept an even pace throughout the 16 lap final in the 2nd position. Sunday won both heats and worked hard to get another 2nd place finish.

Plattsburgh, NY - Kept a steady pace at Plattsburgh with decent heat races and final results were 6th on Sat and 4th on Sun.

Elk River, MN - Competed at a local MN Regional race with the practice sled. Technical issues did not allow any good race results, but it was good track time close to home.

Burke Mtn, VT - Working hard to get the new 2011 Polaris sled ready for the East Coast Series with Toxic Racing. All the hard work has paid off with a 1st place win in Saturday's final at the first event of the season at Burke Mtn, VT. Trouble in Sunday's heats led to being the 1st qualifier from the LCQ into the final - finishing in the top five.

Duluth, MN - First National race at Duluth - Spirit Mtn. Worked hard to make the finals, but missed it by one.

During the off snowmobile season to keep in shape, Jake rides dirt bikes or quads and competes in a few local Motocross events.

Season Highlights - 09-10

Finished the 2009-2010 season with a first in the Geneva Affiliate Championship Race in the Semi-Pro Stock class. Competing against top regional riders across the country.

11th - Season points in the ISOC National Snocross - Semi-Pro Stock #1 class - racing 7 out of 9 races.

National Semi-Pro Stock #1 at Lake Geneva - first in the heat race and tenth in the final.

Season Points winner in ISOC MN Regional - Semi-Pro Stock #1.

Second in MN Regional season - Semi-Pro Stock #2.

Nationals at Hayward, WI - March 6th, Finished with a fifth place in the Semi-Pro Stock #1.

Two First Place Podiums at ERX - Elk River, MN on Feb. 28th.

National racing in Sarnia, Ontario weekend of Feb. 19th.
Made the front row in the Semi-Pro Stock #1 final as seventh qualifier.

MN Regional on Milacs Lake. Semi-Pro Super Stock #1 - 6th place final finish. Third qualifier in the Semi-Pro Super Stock #2 and all the hard work paid off with a 1st place final podium.

World Championship Snowmobile Derby at Eagle River, WI. Raced the Semi-Pro Stock and Open class and placed first in all my heats. Continued on with a first place win in the Semi-Pro Open and finished 2nd in the Semi-Pro Stock due to a blown shock.
